Cтиль, в котором играет пианистка Keiko Matsui, обычно называют «современным джазом» или даже «современной музыкой для взрослых». Это отличный расслабляющий фон для любого времени суток и любой компании. При этом ее мелодии в достаточной мере оригинальны, а аранжировки с использованием большого количества инструментов (в том числе национальной японской флейты шакухачи, на которой играет Kazu Matsui) делают ее музыку вполне узнаваемой. Спокойные, красивые, пышные, но ненавязчивые аранжировки, плотный и ровный звук - вот основные составляющие ее музыки.

Итак все началось с того, что миссис Doi, учитель традиционных японских танцев, привела свою дочь на занятия по классу фортепиано, когда ей было пять лет. Keiko была просто в восторге от ее первого занятия. Поэтому мама стала водить девочку на занятия каждую неделю, какая бы погода не была на улице – пасмурная или солнечная. С тех самых пор ее заветной мечтой было выпустить свой собственный альбом. Она думала об этом постоянно – как он должен звучать, как он должен выглядеть и так далее, с каждым разом придумывая что-то новое и дополняя складывающийся образ.
