Elektrish is so called because it focuses in on the Sonar Kollektiv imprint's most overtly electronic releases, collecting and collating its finest moments within these terms. Among the assembled artists are such familiar SK names as Roland Appel, Christian Prommer, Trickski, Soulphiction and Markus Enochson, all of whom knuckle down to warm, highly accomplished techno that plays down the more organic, jazz-influenced elements of the label's sound whilst still very much remaining true to the Sonar Kollektiv ethos. Highlights come from Appel's seriously weird 'Dark Soldier' (which elsewhere on these pages I have described as being reminiscent of Clannad's Robin Of Sherwood theme tune, complete with "Herne The Hunter vibes". This remains a fair assessment of the track.) and the all-star line-up of Henrik Schwarz, Ame, Dixon and Derrick L. Carter piling onto the track 'Where We At'.
